Plans have been unveiled for a new £25million hotel and apartment scheme in the centre of York. The site is a former garage, now derelict, and an empty office in Piccadilly.

Plans would see the replacement of the existing properties, which cover more than half an acre, with two new buildings: a hotel and apartments.

The proposed development would also feature newly-created open space including courtyard gardens with new walkways, overlooking the River Foss and Clifford’s Tower.

The hotel would be created in conjunction with a major hotel operator.
