A £90 million scheme to redevelop Torquay’s Palace Hotel has been given the go-ahead by Torbay Council. Hotel owners intend to extend the hotel to 160 bedrooms as well as introducing a new spa and swimming pool plus additional restaurants.

The owners also intend to construct 137 private apartments with private spa and leisure facilities on land adjacent to the hotel. Construction work could begin on site in summer 2014.

The Palace Hotel currently sits in 25 acres of gardens and grounds stretching down to the coast with 141 bedrooms and an extensive range of conference and leisure facilities.
