A new Crowne Plaza hotel is set to feature in the £300million regeneration plan for Chester city centre. The existing hotel will be relocated with a new 167-bedroom, four-star hotel taking its place.

The Crowne Plaza Chester will form a key anchor in the proposed ‘Chester Northgate’ redevelopment of the city.

The new Crowne Plaza Chester will feature a rooftop restaurant with views over Chester’s racecourse and will include both a spa and a 600-capacity conference facility – which will be the biggest conference facility in the city.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2021.

The Chester Northgate development will also include a six-screen Picturehouse cinema, around 70 stores, cafés and restaurants, more than 70 homes and the city’s largest car park. They will join a soon-to-open cultural centre and a bus interchange development.
