easyHotels have been submitted plans for a new hotel in the centre of Leeds.

The site in Land Lane was originally home to the Scala Theatre before it became the long-term base of the Waring & Gillow furniture store.

The site is currently vacant.

A £5million investment would see easyHotels convert the upper floors into a 93-bedroom hotel with a ground floor entrance lobby and reception.

The ground floor and basement would also house a café and restaurant.

An opening date in 2018 is being targeted, subject to planning permission being granted.
