The site, a vacant half-acre brownfield site on Tooting High Street, had previously received planning permission for a residential scheme.
The new aparthotel will also include a cafe, restaurant and a landscaped courtyard.
London Hotel Group is planning a four-star rated unit which will be operated by a well-known international hotel brand.
Development is expected to begin late summer 2018 with an opening scheduled for August 2020.
