Pub operators, JD Wetherspoon, are looking to turn vacant office space above the Admiral of the Humber pub in Anlaby Road in Hull into a 20 bedroom hotel.  The Admiral of the Humber is located underneath the empty property, which is considered an eyesore compared to the surrounding buildings.

The proposal aims to convert the two floor property into a "comfortable and aesthetically pleasing hotel environment that compliments the design of the site".

There is a Wetherspoons pub at ground floor level. There are also 26 parking bays at the rear of the building which would serve the hotel. The hotel would be less than one mile from Hull station.

Hull City Council's planning committee will consider the application next month.
