The Birmingham Post is reporting that the planned opening of the new Staycity Aparthotel in Newhall Square in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter has been delayed by six months.

The £17million project based at the former science museum building was scheduled to open in May 2015.

Staycity Aparthotel Birmingham Jewellery Quarter will include 172 one-and two-bedroom apartments each with a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, microwave oven, LCD television and a dining room / lounge.

It will join Staycity's sister site in Birmingham's Arcadian Centre where it operates 79 serviced apartments.
