Manchester Cathedral is planning a £7million extension to the west end of the building as part of a £15million refurbishment programme.

Work includes the installation of a new organ plus new lighting and sound installation. It also includes possible new exhibition space together with at least two rooms offering multi-purpose learning and meeting space.

Manchester Cathedral already has excellent event facilities. The Nave of the cathedral will accommodate over 1100 delegates for a theatre-style presentations or  940 guests  for a dinner. Four more rooms offer space for board meetings, lectures, seminars, workshops, lunches and dinners. Modern audio-visual equipment is provided although the acoustics are first class.
