Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel, Box Hill in Surrey re-opened on Monday 1st September 2014 after an extensive nine-month restoration programme which extended from the entrance and public areas to the restaurant and bar, all 57 bedrooms and eight meeting rooms. The hotel's Tithe Barn has also received a makeover.
 
Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel now features the group's new lobby concept designed to put  a friendly customer welcome at the heart of the check-in procedure which is conducted around an oak table.

Each bedroom has been furnished with a new flat screen television with international satellite channels. There is 24-hour room service and complimentary high speed wi-fi available throughout the hotel.
Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel has eight meeting rooms accommodating between four and 220 delegates. The largest event space is the Tithe Barn, a building with a vaulted ceiling which dates back to the 17th century.

The hotel started life as the Fox and Hounds Inn around 1254. Famous previous guests have included Admiral Lord Nelson and Lady Emma Hamilton who checked-in just before his departure to the Battle of Trafalgar. Literary residents have included John Keats, Robert Louis Stevenson, William Wordsworth and Richard Sheridan. Jane Austen also frequented the hotel.
