Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa, on the Wirral in Cheshire, has launched its own brand of locally distilled gin. It is known as Torintone Gin.
Torintone was the name given to Thornton Hough in the Doomsday Book, where Thornton Hall is based.
Torintone Gin is distilled using local water and a variety of botanicals including juniper, coriander, caraway, lemon, cubeb and elderflower. It is designed for the new generation of gin-drinkers which has grown rapidly in recent years.
Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa has 62 bedrooms, the three AA rosette Lawn Restaurant plus a brasserie restaurant and bar. Extensive leisure facilities include a 20m indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and two outdoor Hydro Spa pools. Thornton Hall spa has ten treatment rooms.
Torintone is also the name of the largest meeting room at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa accommodating up to 650 delegates theatre style. The Pulford Suite will accommodate up to 200 delegates theatre style. Two boardrooms complete the meeting room line-up.
Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa is around a five minute drive from the M53 at junction 4.
