The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane is introducing a range of team building activities, one of which involves delegates playing housekeeper. It is described as a ‘behind-the-scenes lesson in attention to detail’.
Each team is assigned a room arranged as if a guest just left for the day, which they must tidy in preparation for evening turn-down. Teams are welcomed by the General Manager and then meet the Director and Assistant Director of Housekeeping, who later give marks on their performance. Teams must decide their approach before watching the Housekeeping team set up the room the correct way. From here the delegates visit the Back Office to experience how rooms are assigned before heading to the kitchen. Once kitted out with a monogrammed apron and chef's hat, the group is set to work creating their own sweets, finishing in one of the hotel's meeting rooms for afternoon tea comprised of the treats they have just created.
