Artzu is contemporary gallery space overlooking the green space of Hardman Square in Spinningfields, the new financial quarter in central Manchester between Deansgate and the River Irwell.
It is only a small gallery covering 1500 sq. ft. on the ground floor of a modern office block with restaurants and exclusive bars its near neighbours around the square. Artzu can be booked for private hire. It is an unusual and memorable venue for up to around 130 guests standing. The gallery’s outdoor terrace area can be used to ‘extend’ the gallery. It can be used for a barbeque or to house a marquee to increase guest numbers.
Between now and 22 April Artzu is hosting: ‘Newseum - the secrets behind the news since 1785’. It chronicles the job of the journalist and the tools of their trade during the 230 years The Times newspaper has been in existence - from carrier pigeons, coded telegrams up to modern day mobile telecommunications. It is a fascinating, absorbing exhibition illustrated with a collection of artefacts and documents from The Times archive together with a series of short videos about the job of the journalist and the ingenuity involved getting their stories back home - each narrated by one of today's journalists.
Artzu Gallery offers a sophisticated venue for corporate entertaining, celebrations and parties as well as for pop ups, canapé receptions, Christmas parties, filming and photo shoots. Clients can select from a range of bespoke menus to suit the occasion and their budget.
Artzu is a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road stations. St Peter Square, a five minute walk away is the nearest Metrolink station. There are plenty of hotels from across the price spectrum within a ten minute walk of Artzu.
