Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel at Box Hill in Surrey is to re-open Monday 1st September 2014 following an extensive nine-month restoration. The refurbishment has extended from the entrance and public areas to the restaurant and bar plus the 57 guest bedrooms and eight meeting rooms. The new-look Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel will feature a fresh contemporary styling throughout, including the hotel’s seventeenth century, vaulted-ceiling Tithe Barn event space.

What is now the Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel started life as the Fox and Hounds Inn around the year 1254. Famous guests have included Lord Nelson who checked-in with Lady Emma Hamilton just before his departure to the Battle of Trafalgar.  A room at the hotel is named in honour of Lady Hamilton.

The Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel is set in three acres of landscaped gardens at the foot of Box Hill within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
