Travelodge has unveiled plans to open 19 new hotels in 2016 representing an investment of £140million. The additions will take the group’s portfolio strength to 542 hotels.

The company has also identified 250 further locations for Travelodge development in the UK.

Roomzzz Aparthotels are planning to open three new aparthotels this year.

Roomzzz London Stratford: will feature 82 apartments and will be located within walking distance of the Olympic Park and Westfield Shopping Centre with Stratford tube station just a short stroll away.

Roomzzz Manchester Corn Exchange:  with 114 apartments is a reworking of Manchester’s Grade II-listed Corn Exchange where the building’s period features and bare brick walls will now host the Roomzzz ‘New Generation’ interior design.

Roomzzz Harrogate: with 103 new apartments will be located in the grounds of the Great Yorkshire Showground, adjacent to Wetherby Road in Harrogate.

Each Roomzzz apartment includes a living area with the latest entertainment technology and free wi-fi, a fitted kitchen and a comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Each will also feature a 'Grab and Go' breakfast selection in the lobby.

All three will be opening in 2016. The following year Roomzzz Liverpool City will open in the city’s Littlewoods Building together with Roomzzz York City on the banks of the River Ouse in the centre of York.

The three newcomers will be joining existing Roomzzz Aparthotels in Chester, Leeds. Newcastle on Tyne, Nottingham and Manchester.

Z at Gloucester Place is a new hotel expected to open in London later in January.

Z at Gloucester Place will be spread over four buildings: 23, 33 and 51-55 Gloucester Place and will operate as one hotel offering the same facilities and features. The larger building, 51-55 Gloucester Place, will provide a larger seating and reception area, with a comprehensive breakfast buffet served together with a 24/7 fully licensed facility.

Z at Gloucester Place will include 89 bedrooms across the properties ranging in size from 13-30 sq-mt and include standard, superior and executive bedrooms plus junior suites. The Z bedroom includes an en-suite wet room, a 40” television with a full selection of Sky channels and complimentary wi-fi.

Z at Gloucester Place is a short walk to Baker Street, Marylebone, Edgware Road and Marble Arch tube stations.

Z at Gloucester Place will be the sixth Z hotel to open in London joining Z Soho, Z Piccadilly, Z Victoria, Z Shoreditch and the recently opened Z City. The group also operates Z Hotels in Liverpool and Glasgow.

A 65-acre business park is planned on the site of the former Rolls-Royce East Works in Filton, north Bristol.

The development, to be known as Horizon38, will include a new hotel as well as warehousing, car dealerships and industrial space.

The site fronts onto the A38 in Filton near the former Filton airfield, Airbus and Rolls-Royce.

Major groundworks will commence on site early 2016, with a phased development. The first completed buildings are expected early in 2017.

Meanwhile further north in Sunderland plans have been unveiled to transform the 5.5 hectare former Vaux Breweries site (pictured) in the city centre into a business and leisure development which will include a new hotel. A formal planning application is expected later this year

Club Zetter is a new club for collaborative working set to open February 2016 at the Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell, London. The venture is a collaboration between the Zetter Hotel and workspace providers Central Working.

Club Zetter will be an entrepreneurs club to offer support and systems that entrepreneurs need when starting and developing a business. Club Zetter aims to provide an “inspiring environment” to “allow members to do business in absolute comfort”.

Whilst the space will be members-only during the day, it will open its doors to the general public each evening, when food and wine will be served.

The Zetter Hotel, located in Clerkenwell close to the Crossrail station at Farringdon and Old Street tube station, will be the second Central Working site in the Tech-City area of east London.

Founded in 2011, Central Working currently has a network of five clubs across London and Manchester, with sites in the City, Bloomsbury, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, plus Deansgate in Manchester.
