A new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre is currently being planned at Bucksburn. When constructed the site of the existing AECC at Bridge of Don will be redeveloped.

The new £333million AECC has been designed to provide a range of flexible, multi-purpose spaces to host a large range of exhibitions, conferences, entertainment and sporting events. It will include a 12,500-capacity arena, VIP boxes, restaurants and a hotel.

Integrated within the new AECC complex will be a 200-bedroom four-star hotel which will connect to the AECC at ground floor concourse level and first floor conference suite level. The hotel will include bars, restaurants, conference and spa facilities as well as 200 underground car parking spaces.

Construction is planned to start during 2016 with completion scheduled for 2018.
