Bath Racecourse has been granted planning approval to build a new grandstand overlooking the final furlong of the track.
The new grandstand will include a public bar on the ground floor with viewing steps for spectators and a 200-seat trackside restaurant and balcony on the middle floor. The top floor will consist of an exclusive covered roof terrace. The new grandstand will also include large function space for non-raceday events, including conferences, banquets and weddings.
Work has already started on landscaping the site. Following the latest approvals construction on the new grandstand will begin immediately. The new stand is expected to open summer 2016.
Bath Racecourse Executive Director Jo Hall said “We are already receiving enquiries for events in the new facilities and we are expecting the new conference suite to be popular with organisers of corporate entertainment and events, especially since we are able to offer free parking for all guests.”
Bath Racecourse is situated on Lansdown Hill, overlooking the City of Bath.
