Crossbasket Castle in Blantyre near East Kilbride, Glasgow is set to open spring 2016 as a nine-bedroom luxury hotel.
The project has been a labour of love for the owners who bought the property in 2011 and have since invested £9million restoring the castle, which had been languishing on the Buildings at Risk Register.
Crossbasket Castle was built in the 15th century and was once owned by Charles Mackintosh of waterproof fabric fame.
As well as the nine luxury bedroom, Crossbasket Castle will also include a grand ballroom for up to 250 guests. This overlooks the waterfalls on the River Calder. A drawing room, dining room and a library complete the line-up.
Crossbasket Castle will be managed by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI). They also manage a range of Scotland's most renowned small luxury hotels.
