The Co-operative group has announced a joint venture with developers to bring its planned £800million transformation of Manchester city centre to fruition. The NOMA scheme will lead to a total revamping of around 20-acres of land near Victoria Station in central Manchester. The Co-op's new headquarters, One Angel Square, have already been built as part of NOMA. Another component of the plan includes a revamp of the former Hannover building to create Hotel Indigo Manchester with 178 contemporary bedrooms and a Marco Pierre White restaurant. Development work on the hotel is scheduled to start first quarter 2014.
