Building work has begun on a new luxury hotel in Edinburgh's Old Town. The 98-bedroom boutique hotel will be part of the Carlton Hotel Collection and will be located in Market Street on a site which has remained vacant for more than 50 years.
The site is within the UNESCO World Heritage boundary and the Old Town Conservation Area of Edinburgh.
The interior design of this hotel will reflect the heritage of the location. It will also feature a top floor lounge with panoramic views across the Waverley Valley from Princes Street Gardens to Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
The hotel is scheduled to open Spring 2018.
