citizenM open two new hotels in London this summer. The first, citizenM Tower of London, opens July 2016 (pictured left). The second, citizenM Shoreditch, opens a couple of months later.
citizenM hotels are variously described as ‘trendy boutique’, ‘affordable luxury’ or ‘cool and contemporary’ – take your pick.
citizenM Tower of London is located right on top of Tower Hill Underground Station and overlooks the Tower and Tower Bridge. It will include 370 modular styled bedrooms – rooms manufactured off-site and then craned into position on-site.
The rooms will feature XL king-sized beds, rain showers, free movies and free wi-fi and ‘absolutely no trouser presses, bellboys or stupid pillow chocolates’.
citizenM Tower of London will have a ground floor cafe and gallery, a bar and living room spaces. The top two floors will feature ‘SocietyM’ business club rooms.
citizenM Shoreditch is located at the heart of the Shoreditch Village, a brownfield site off Shoreditch High Street. The 10-storey building will have shops, a café and restaurants on the lower floors with 185 modular style bedrooms above.
There is just one citizenM hotel in London at the moment – citizenM Bankside with 192 bedrooms. It is thought the Dutch-based group are planning to open up to 1000 bedrooms across four hotels in London.
