A new Courtyard by Marriott is set to open in Edinburgh in October 2016.
Located in Baxter’s Place next to the Edinburgh Playhouse and close to the new St James development, the project will see the refurbishment and extension of three Category A Georgian townhouses into the 240-bedroom Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh.
A new building is being added behind to accommodate the rest of the hotel.
One of the Georgian townhouses being redeveloped was formerly the home of Robert Stevenson, grandfather of ‘Treasure Island’ author, Robert Louis Stevenson.
Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh will feature an all-day bistro restaurant, a fitness centre and a 49 sq-ft multi-functional meeting room equipped with the latest technology. The
hotel will offer free wi-fi throughout.
New Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh is a five-minute walk from Princes Street, Waverley Station and the Edinburgh Tram on York Place. It is nine miles from Edinburgh Airport.
