The Lion Quays Hotel and Spa in Oswestry, Shropshire has looked to Downing Street for inspiration for its new conference centre.
The hotel has created four new ‘Cabinet Meeting’ rooms.
The Cabinet Room itself is the largest accommodating up to 60 delegates theatre style with private breakout space. The Westminster Room, Number 10 and Number 11 rooms will accommodate 20, 12 and 10 delegates respectively, boardroom style.
The renovated Cabinet Rooms are located in a dedicated business zone of the hotel. Each room pays homage to the Westminster corridors of power. All are furnished in a contemporary style with lots of natural daylight, a wall mounted television and presentation technology, conference call facilities, complimentary wi-fi and complimentary stationery.
The Lion Quays Hotel and Spa also offers delegates use of the ‘Sweet Cabinet’ - a choice of teas/coffees, popcorn, slush and a variety of retro pick and mix.
The Lion Quays Hotel and Spa also has a large ground floor banqueting suite accommodating up to 400 delegates and overlooking a private walled garden and the Llangollen Canal.
The Lion Quays Hotel and Spa has 82 en-suite bedrooms, bar and multiple restaurants including waterside dining plus a country club and spa. The hotel grounds are available for team building exercises.
Perhaps the UK seat of government could consider a temporary move to Shropshire when, as it is looking increasingly likely, the Palace of Westminster in London will be forced to close for essential and long overdue maintenance work.
The Lion Quays Hotel and Spa is located within 45 minutes of Shrewsbury, Chester, Birmingham and Manchester.
