Plans are afoot to add two storeys to the Royal Angus Hotel in the centre of Birmingham.
The extension will house almost a hundred additional bedrooms.
The Royal Angus Hotel, opposite St Chad's Cathedral, currently has 133 bedrooms. This could rise to 226 bedrooms.
Plans also include a single storey extension to the hotel's existing third floor terrace. This will become a new 200-cover restaurant at the Royal Angus Hotel.
Birmingham City Council planning committee meet later in July to discuss the proposals.
The Royal Angus Hotel was formerly a Thistle-branded hotel before joining The Hotel Collection. It is now managed by Snow Hill Birmingham Developments LLP.
The Royal Angus Hotel is located in the Snow Hill quarter of the city - a short walk from Birmingham Snow Hill station and a five minute drive from the M6 at Spaghetti Junction.
