Chateau Impney, the chateau-styled hotel in Droitwich, Worcestershire is looking to appoint a ‘Food Taster in Residence' -  a dedicated foodie to fill what will be the first position of its kind in the UK.
Chateau Impney are not looking for any formal catering qualifications or experience of working in the hospitality industry for this honorary position. Instead, they are seeking applicants with a passion for food and a well-developed palate to test all of their new dishes before they are added to the menus, and then recommend their favourites to the guests.  Chateau Impney serves well in excess of 50,000 meals annually across its restaurant, bars, weddings, and conference and exhibition facilities.
Applications close at midnight (GMT) on Thursday 3 July, after which a panel of judges will select a shortlist of eight applicants. Then the finalists will be pitted against each other in a series of ‘taste battles’, designed to put their gastronomic talents to the test, before the very first Taster in Residence in appointed.
