The Zetter Group has been confirmed as operators of the new hotel planned in London Road Fire Station in Manchester.
The Zetter Group currently have three hotels, all in London. The Zetter Hotel at London Road Fire Station will be the group’s first operation outside London.
The Zetter Group was created by restaurateurs Michael Benyan and Mark Sainsbury. They joined forces 16 years ago to open the Moorish restaurant Moro in Clerkenwell, central London.
The 59-bedroom Zetter Hotel followed opening in Clerkenwell in 2004. The group's other venues include the Grain Store restaurant in King's Cross, the 13-bedroom Georgian townhouse the Zetter Townhouse also in Clerkenwell and the 24-bedroom Zetter Townhouse in Marylebone.
The Zetter Hotel at London Road Fire Station will spread over five floors. It will have no more than 100 bedrooms and suites and it will include a world class cocktail bar, spa and co working space.
The Grade II-listed London Road Fire Station is located alongside Manchester Piccadilly station in Manchester city centre.
Allied London, the site owners, will submit a planning application for the hotel in autumn 2016.
