The first phase of the new luxury hotel, Beaverbrooks, has just opened near Leatherhead in Surrey. The property, previously known as Cherkley Court, was the former home of newspaper magnate and politician Lord Beaverbrook.
The first phase is the Garden House which includes 11 bedrooms, a 55-seater restaurant and a cookery school.
The 18-hole golf course created on the 380-acre Beaverbrook estate is now open and the new club house will be opening later this month.
The main Grade-II-listed French chateaux-style mansion will reopen next year with 18 bedrooms, a bar, a restaurant and screening room. Leisure facilities will include a spa, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool plus six treatment rooms.
Beaverbrooks plan to open a further six suites in the grounds in 2017.
