Two new hotels in London are expected to add around 800 extra hotel bedrooms in the Capital when they open.
PPHE Hotel Group, better known by its brands Park Plaza and Art'otel, has obtained planning permission to redevelop Hercules House (pictured left) at Waterloo into a 438-bedroom hotel which could increase to 490 bedrooms. Meanwhile the Edwardian Group London is developing a 360-bedroom “luxury lifestyle” hotel on the south west corner of Leicester Square on the site of the Radisson Blu Edwardian Leicester Square hotel and Odeon cinema.
‘Waterloo’ is expected to be complete by September 2016 whilst ‘Leicester Square’ is scheduled to open in 2017. Both hotels will include a swimming pool, spa, restaurants and bars. The Edwardian in Leicester Square will also feature two cinemas.
Yabu Pushelberg, the international design firm has just been appointed by Edwardian hotels to mastermind its development. Meanwhile construction has already begun on the PPHE site at Waterloo.
