The accommodation block is Jonas Court located on Sheffield University's Endcliffe Village campus. It is a three-four storey development built in the 1990s comprising a catered student halls of residence. It is currently vacant and likely to remain so.
If Jonas Court looks is transformed into a hotel it would comprise two floors with 57 rooms of student hotel accommodation for both Sheffield-based and visiting students plus one floor with 23 bedrooms of general hotel accommodation.
The proposal has been submitted in response to an increased demand for flexible overnight accommodation from students and their families.
The Jonas Court hotel would be managed by the University of Sheffield.
