Preston in Lancashire could soon have three new hotels.

Last month we highlighted plans to convert the former Park Hotel close to Preston station back into a 154-bedroom luxury hotel.

Plans to transform the Guild Centre in Preston into a £10million aparthotel (pictured) with casino, spa and gym are on the verge of securing the go-ahead.

The 15-storey building would be converted into a 105 room aparthotel by operator Villa Urban.

The aparthotel would occupy the upper storeys with a casino and gym on the lower levels.

Also set for imminent approval are plans to convert the former central Post Office in Preston into a 60 bedroom boutique hotel.

The development proposed by Signature Living involves adding a two-storey flat-roof extension to the existing Grade II-listed building.

The new hotel would include a restaurant/bar, function space and a spa. The Post Office closed in 2005 and the building has been vacant ever since.

Preston City Council’s planning committee is due to meet early December to discuss the Guild Hall and Post Office projects.
