Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) has just opened its new conference and events facility.

The facilities, located in the university’s Hamish Wood building, include a state-of-the-art conference hall, a glass entrance pavilion plus a suite of seminar rooms and break-out spaces.

The conference hall is a flexible space with retractable theatre-style seating. It can accommodate up to 500 people in either a tiered lecture theatre layout or in a large open space for a more informal gathering such as a private dinner. The glass ceiling floods the room with natural daylight.

The conference hall is supported by ten new breakout rooms including the centre’s lantern space – a striking circular glass meeting room to accommodate up to 70 delegates.

The new facility is also home to three new garden and courtyard spaces.

The new conference facility will complement the university’s existing Saltire Centre and lecture rooms. Its opening marks the completion of a two-year £32million Heart of the Campus project undertaken by Glasgow Caledonian University.

Glasgow Caledonian University is a ‘single-site’ campus is located in Cowcaddens Road in the centre of Glasgow,  close to the M8 motorway with easy  access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. Glasgow Caledonian University is within easy walking distance of Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central stations.
