Two new hotels have appeared on the distant horizon following planning approval – in London and in Sheffield.
In London, planners at Kensington and Chelsea Council have given the thumbs up to the 139,000 sq-ft Exhibition Square (pictured) - the redevelopment of the former Earls Court exhibition complex in west London.
Two gateway buildings have been approved for the project - the first of four new urban villages at Earls Court.
The development will include a new hotel as well as residential units plus a new entrance to Earl’s Court tube station.

Meanwhile, in Sheffield outline planning consent has been granted for the £175million West Bar Square development in the heart of Sheffield city centre’s Riverside Business District.
West Bar Square will feature a four-star hotel as well as a mix of offices, residential buildings, restaurants and shops.
