Construction work has just started on a 79-bedroom extension at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester.
The extension will increase the number of bedrooms at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester to 219.
At the same time the hotel reception, lounge and lobby areas will also be extended.
The design of the new bedrooms will take inspiration from the hotel's history.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel occupies an 18th century manor house set in 12 acres of landscaped grounds and was once owned by pioneer balloonist Thomas Baldwin.
The new bedrooms are expected to open in October 2017.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester has an executive floor of meeting rooms each accommodating up to 25 delegates boardroom style, all with natural daylight and flexible layouts. The main Ballroom will seat up to 300 delegates theatre style and is attached to the hotel’s Grade II-listed conservatory.
Leisure facilities at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester include a pool and fitness centre plus 14 treatment rooms in the spa.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester is located two miles from the centre of Chester and is approximately 50 minutes from Manchester Airport.
