Construction work has started on a £6 million project to transform St George’s Bristol into a world-class multi-purpose venue for performances, education workshops, team building and venue hire.
A key feature of the development will be a new extension built within the surrounding gardens of the main building. Completion is expected mid-February 2018.
St George’s Bristol is predominantly a music venue. However, its 562 capacity main hall hosts conferences as well as concerts and celebratory events.
The main hall features a large 10m wide x 7m deep x 1.5m high stage with the option of a stage extension. Equipment available in-house includes a 10ft x 7.5ft screen and rear projector plus a selection of roaming, static and lapel microphones, a lectern, two large speakers and a DVD player.
In addition to the main hall, there are two backstage dressing rooms and meeting/break-out rooms which can accommodate small meetings through to 250 capacity functions.
St George's Bristol is located in Great George Street in the heart of Bristol. There is a car park that can accommodate up to 16 vehicles.
