Rockliffe Hall hotel in County Durham has unveiled plans to develop a one and a half acre site adjacent to the Old Hall into a multi-functional parkland for guests.
The £750,000 development will be called ‘Mischmasch’. It has been inspired by the writer Lewis Carroll who lived locally. Mischmasch is due to open at the end of summer 2017.
Mischmasch will have a strong Lewis Carroll theme and will include an Alice in Wonderland nature trail leading to a large eco-adventure playground including climbing frames and slides, an interactive water fountain and a maze.
The development will also feature a new glasshouse, which will become the venue for pop-up events including corporate events. Adjacent to this will be a walled kitchen garden, two artificial tennis courts and a wildflower nature trail.
Rockliffe Hall is a 61 bedroom luxury hotel on the banks of the River Tees. The Orangery is the hotel’s three AA rosette restaurant. Leisure facilities include a golf course and a spa.
Rockliffe Hall has eleven meeting rooms with the largest, the Rockliffe Suite, seating up to 250 delegates. Many of the rooms also have an outdoor terrace with views across the grounds.
Rockliffe Hall is located between the villages of Hurworth and Croft on Tees in County Durham. It is a five minute drive from Darlington station and ten minutes from Durham Tees Valley Airport.
