Expect an imminent opening of the new Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.
A soft opening scheduled for April had to be cancelled because of some reported last minute hitches.
The Exchange Hotel is a reworking of the Grade II-listed former Coal Exchange building. The Coal Exchange was built between 1883 and 1886 when Cardiff operated the biggest coalport in the world but closed in 1958 following the decline of the coal industry.
The Exchange Hotel is dedicated to the Coal Exchange’s illustrious history and includes a First World War memorial in the hotel’s grand hall.
When fully open the Exchange Hotel will have 200 bedrooms. It will open initially with 40 bedrooms, a restaurant and reception - with the rest of the hotel and the balance of the bedrooms launching later in the year.
The Exchange Hotel will also have a range of meeting and events rooms as well as a spa.
Liverpool-based Signature Living have developed the Exchange Hotel. The hotel will join their existing property portfolio which includes four hotels in Liverpool.
The Exchange Hotel is located in Mount Stuart Square between Cardiff Bay and Cardiff city centre.
