Celtic Manor Resort lodge new hotel plans


Celtic Manor Resort in Newport is planning a new hotel on the site of the existing Coldra Court Hotel in Chepstow Road.

Coldra Court Hotel was formerly Hilton Newport until Celtic Manor Resort purchased the hotel, refurbished and rebranded it in March 2016.

The group is now proposing a new 154-bedroom budget hotel, together with a café and a separate drive-thru coffee outlet, to be operated by Starbucks.

The hotel is required to offer additional local accommodation in support of the new International Convention Centre Wales which will be located at Celtic Manor Resort when it opens in 2019.

A planning application has been lodged with Newport City Council.
