Classic Lodges hotel group has unveiled plans to create a new 60-lodge holiday park in the grounds at Grinkle Park hotel near Whitby in North Yorkshire.
The development would see the restoration of the hotel’s Grade II-listed stable block, the re-introduction of a derelict caravan site and the formation of two new lakes to complement the existing water feature.
The accommodation would range from one-room to six-room properties and most of it would be built on unused plantation. The lodges will cost around £5million to develop.
Grinkle Park currently has 20 recently refurbished bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and three meeting rooms. The ground floor Palmer Suite is the largest meeting room seating up to 180 delegates theatre style.
Grinkle Park is one of fifteen manor house and country house hotels in the Classic Lodges hotel group. They range from Marshall Meadows in Berwick-on-Tweed on the England/Scotland border down to The Hickstead in West Sussex.
