Plans have been submitted by the British Racing Drivers' Club for the first phase of a redevelopment of Silverstone Park in Northamptonshire, the home of the British Grand Prix.
Plans include a new 300-bedroom hotel at the entrance to Silverstone Park as well as sports and leisure facilities, an adrenaline centre plus student accommodation.
The application comes weeks after a wider outline masterplan was approved for the Silverstone site.
Permission was also granted last year for a £22million Silverstone Heritage Experience, showcasing the history of the circuit. Work will start on this during the autumn and is expected to finish in spring 2019.
