The former St Mary’s Convent near Alnwick Castle in Northumberland is currently being transformed into a boutique hotel. It will open on 22nd September 2017 as the 11-bedroom hotel – The Cookie Jar.
The bedrooms at the Cookie Jar have been created from 24 smaller rooms in the original convent. The Cookie Jar will feature a suite located in the former chapel complete with the original stained-glass windows.
All bedrooms will feature a signature drench showers with luxury toiletries. Rooms will also include an oversized flat screen television, complimentary water and super-fast wi-fi – plus home-made cookies from the jar.
The Cookie Jar features a drying room on the ground floor with heater cabinets, boot racks and a secure double gun cabinet for the shooting enthusiasts - plus five comfortable kennels for the dogs.
The 30-coverBailiffgate Bistro opens spring 2018. In the meantime, morning coffee, “small-plate” snacks and afternoon tea will be served daily. Beyond the Bistro there will be a heated, 40 seater, two-tier terrace with a fire pit, garden area and lawn.
The Cookie Jar is located in the centre of Alnwick town, on the doorstep of Alnwick Castle (pictured) in Northumberland.
