The Grade II-listed Mount Hotel in Wolverhampton has received planning consent to demolish a 20th century extension and replace it with a more attractive glazed structure.
This would "enhance the character of the original building" and "allow views of the ground floor element of the original east façade which are presently obscured".
The Mount Hotel is a 67-bedroom, four-star hotel with two AA rosettes.
It dates back to the 1870’s when it was built as a home for Charles Mander, a local industrialist. It was converted into a hotel in the early years of the twentieth century.
The Mount Hotel includes a modern business centre with six meeting rooms accommodating up to 200 delegates. They are all equipped with the latest business facilities which also incorporate a high-speed wi-fi connection.
The Mount Hotel is located in Tettenhall Wood in the rural outskirts of Wolverhampton and just five minutes from city centre Wolverhampton. The Mount Hotel is minutes away from the M54 and ten minutes from the M6 motorway.
