Apartment operator, Staying Cool, has been given the go-ahead to create a new aparthotel in central Manchester.
The site at 40 Chorlton Street in the city centre is destined to become a 41-bed aparthotel with a rooftop extension and a restaurant/bar at ground and basement level.
The building is a former cotton warehouse, which was once home to the Mash & Air bar-restaurant and Jongleurs comedy club but it has now stood empty for several years.
Restoration and renovation work is expected to start in the autumn of 2017 with the Staying Cool aparthotel earmarked to open in late 2018.
The project is the first in a joint partnership with Bespoke Hotels, which will see the Staying Cool brand rolled-out across the UK.
Staying Cool currently operates a 45-unit apartment hotel on the top floors of Birmingham’s Rotunda building alongside Birmingham New Street Station.
