The new Abu Dhabi-based owners of the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, are planning to add a further 50 bedrooms to the 241-bedroom hotel.
It is part of their overall £20million refurbishment scheme.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, universally known as ‘The Caley’, was constructed by the Caledonian Railway Company as a ‘Grand Railway Hotel’.
The hotel opened in 1903 and underwent a £24million renovation before relaunching in 2012 as the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh. It was the first Waldorf Astoria in the UK.
