Plans are underway to convert North Western Hall in the centre of Liverpool from student flats into a hotel.
The Grade II-listed North Western Hall sits alongside Liverpool Lime Street station and it was built as a railway hotel.
More recently North Western Hall has been part of Liverpool John Moores University. It has been used as student accommodation since 1996. It also houses a Wetherspoons pub on the ground floor.
The mix of rooms and facilities is still to be decided. The number of bedrooms could range from 180 to 230 depending on whether the hotel becomes a full service unit or a limited service budget hotel.
A mid-2019 opening of the North Western Hotel is anticipated - subject to the scheme securing planning approval.
