A £5million plan to extend the National Space Centre in Leicester has been approved by the city council.
Part of the investment will see a revamp of the ticket office and main entrance. It will also create an 850 square metre exhibition area which will allow the National Space Centre to host corporate events.
The National Space Centre is a not-for-profit organisation and attracting more corporate events will increase the Centre’s revenue stream.
The National Space Centre is the leading space research centre in the UK. On its site it has a 140ft rocket tower as well as a planetarium plus a range of galleries featuring space suits, satellites and meteorites.
The National Space Centre is located just off the A6, two miles north of Leicester City Centre.
