The new hotel will be housed in the Grade A listed Buchan House in St Andrew Square in the centre of Edinburgh.
Malmaison plan to restore the building whilst retaining its period features. The new Malmaison will compliment Malmaison Edinburgh Leith which occupies the site of a former ‘house of ill-repute’ in Edinburgh’s docklands and was the first ever Malmaison to open back in 1994.
The new Malmaison in St Andrew Square will have 72 bedrooms and will feature the Chez Mal bar and brasserie and the ‘Work + Play’ meeting and events concept.
Planning permission for the new hotel was granted in November 2017.
