The hotel will be located in West George Street opposite Queen Street station. 

The Meininger Hotel Glasgow is scheduled to open in 2020.

Meininger Hotel Glasgow will have 160 bedrooms spread over five floors of the new building.

Public areas including the reception, lobby, lounge, breakfast room and bar as well as a guest kitchen and a ‘game zone’, will be located on the first floor of the hotel building. New retail space is planned at basement, ground and mezzanine levels.

Meininger Hotel Glasgow will be the group’s second hotel in the UK. The first opened in Queens Gate, Kensington in London in 2006.

Meininger is an international budget hotel brand with extra facilities, such as a guest kitchen and a games zone. The hotels are centrally located and feature bedrooms which range from traditional double rooms through private rooms with multiple beds right down to a bed in a dorm room.

Thus Meininger Hotels appeal to various target groups, such as school groups, families, individual travellers as well as corporate guests.

Meininger currently operates 20 hotels in Europe, with a total of 10,492 beds in 12 European cities.
