Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham is set to open a new conference and banqueting centre in space formerly occupied by its Japanese sky bar and restaurant – Rofuto Restaurant.
Rofuto was located on the 16thfloor of the hotel. It closed two months ago.
In its place will be a 1,250 sq-ft conference centre with floor-to-ceiling windows accommodating up to 240 delegates.
The hotel's 15th floor, which houses the existing conference facilities at Park Regis, will be renovated to create additional meeting rooms, break-out areas and a bar.
Completion is expected summer 2018. Then Park Regis Birmingham will be able to accommodate up to 500 conference delegates across the two floors.
The 253-bedroom Park Regis Birmingham opened in March 2016 at Five Ways, where Broad Street meets Hagley Road on the western edge of the city centre.
Park Regis is part of Australian-based StayWell Holdings which controls 72 hotels worldwide. Park Regis Birmingham marked the brand's first venture in Europe.
