The 65-bedroom boutique Shankly Hotel will be located in the 114-year-old Grade II-listed former central Post Office overlooking the main Flag Market and Harris Museum in the centre of Preston.

The building closed as a Post Office in 2005.

Signature Living already operate the Shankly Hotel which opened in Liverpool in 2015.

Like its Liverpool namesake, Shankly Hotel Preston will celebrate the history of the football legend, Bill Shankly,  who played for Preston North End between 1933-1949 before going on to lead Liverpool Football Club to a series of league title wins in the 1960s and 70’s.

The hotel will showcase unseen memorabilia from Bill Shankly’s football career. It will also include a restaurant and bar.

Shankly Hotel Preston is expected to open in September 2018.
