Plans are about to be lodged for two new hotels in the centre of Leeds.
The plans envisage the conversion, extension and refurbishment of three Grade II-listed buildings in central Leeds – the Leonardo Building, Thoresby Building and Great George Street Building - plus the development of a new building on an existing car park.
The Great George Street Building would be converted into a premium hotel. The roof would be extended with additional floors and possibly a rooftop restaurant.
The Leonardo and Thoresby buildings would be consolidated, connected and extended at roof level to provide office accommodation.
A lifestyle hotel would feature in the new building.
The scheme has already been discussed by the Leeds Council’s city planners. A public consultation day is planned for the end of May.
