EventCity, the conference and events venue in Manchester, has revealed its vision for the future following planned major local transport and infrastructure upgrades.
EventCity is located in TraffordCity, six miles from Manchester city centre. However, the one key element which has played an important role in attracting new enquiries is the planned £350million Trafford Park Metrolink line, which is currently underway and due to arrive at EventCity’s doorstep in 2020.
EventCity already benefits from the area’s 1,000 hotel bedrooms and its 2,000 free onsite parking spaces. There are a further 1,000 hotel bedrooms scheduled to open.
The Metrolink line will have six new tram stops including Intu Trafford Centre, Imperial War Museum North, Old Trafford football stadium and Manchester International Airport.
Simon Jones, Sales Director, EventCity, said: “The arrival of the Metrolink is a huge asset to EventCity. As the completion date approaches, we are seeing more clients enquiring about our conference and exhibition services. The line will connect us to thousands of hotel beds, the international airport and, of course, Manchester City centre.”
EventCity is the UK’s largest venue in the north and the second largest venue outside London with a total of 28,000 sq-mt of flexible and versatile space.
